Going ring crazy with no sign of stopping.

It's been all about wearing sea glass, rocks, and shells on my fingers these days.  Other jewelry is really for other people to admire, I can't see the earrings on my ears or the necklaces I wear.  Rings have that special something because you can see them all the time.  I'm really, truly thinking that this may be it for me.  Making jewelry for the sole pleasure of the person wearing it.  I don't have to make matches for earrings or make jewelry that I can't see once I put it on.  I almost refuse to at this point.  Everyone in this day and age could use a little piece of the beach to take with them on life's journey.  That's where I'm at and I don't see myself budging for the forseeable future.

To the circles drawn in the sand at the beach.  They've always brought sunshine into my life.

http://www.ribeachjewelry.com/  has the current ring overload for sale.  $9 plus $2.75 shipping to US only.  Price may change based on demand.

Have fun out there, it's summertime.

What I've been up to...

It's been a very busy time for me.  One of my babies graduated from high school, one turned 4, and all the obligations of making things work in this day and age have left me a bit tapped.  At the end of the day, I've been finding it challenging to create.  I've returned to working more heavily in wire.  I'm currently working with designs in steel to play around a bit.  Here are a few pictures of what's in store eventually when things all wind down and I can bring all that's in my head to fruition.

I've also created a web space outside of Etsy for my work.  I would love if people would visit and "like" my page if so inclined.  It's a work in progress but I hope you enjoy taking a look.

All in the Family

Thought you might like to take a look at my daughter's creation, a beautiful rendition of a lone echinacea flower.  I love this painting and wanted to share it with everyone.  Amy's 20 years old and I'd love to see her do more painting.  She's busy with school (she's studying to be a Nurse) and work (she waitresses and some people really are lousy tippers regardless of outstanding service).  This piece was created in Colorado 4 years ago.  It graces our living room wall.

I love the movement, the vibrance, the texture, the contrast, the landscape, the colors and just the sense of peace I feel whenever I slow down and take another look at it.  I hope you enjoy it as well.  Peace to all.

The first festival and I'm a little (read very) nervous.

sail away, sail away, sail away

It's intimidating to go face to face after being only online with my jewelry.  It's so personal being face to face.  There are all the nuances of reaction.  I'm not very good at selling my own work, either.  I'm better at giving away shells, rocks, and sea glass to the kids.  I guess taking the pressure off to sell and looking at it as an opportunity for feedback and to actually sit for an extended period of time to braid and assemble is the way to go.  What good will the pressure to sell be?  Not good.  I've got just over 2 weeks to prepare mentally and physically from nuts to bolts.  So, I'm keeping busy drilling, braiding, and brainstorming for the display.  I'm thinking the oyster bar boat or maybe 2 from work (filled with beach sand), lots of spring plants, and something beachy to hang all of the necklaces and bracelets from.  Then there's a cool book for people to leave their emails in, the tissue paper, the bags, the tablecloth.  Would love to hire an assistant to take care of all of this so I could just make some jewelry.  Hope all crafters are doing well and staying a bit (read a lot) calmer than I am.  Peace out to all of you.  Since I love to fill my blog with pictures, here are a few more of what I've been up to lately.
Olive of Italy

Eau Naturalle

Splash of Aqua

To my daughter, if she's reading this, would love to have you by my side with your beautiful paintings.  Bet I could sell them for you.  Love you, Mom.

Sea Glass Charms

Here's the latest project, fun little pieces of genuine RI sea glass to add to charm bracelets and necklaces.

All three are available on my Etsy shop.  www.etsy.com/shop/seastoneandshell
You can also find me on facebook!  http://www.facebook.com/Beach.Jewelry

Lots of treasures for beach lovers are available.  I wear little pieces of the beach all the time.  It's nice to be able to reach for my beach stone earrings when I'm feeling a bit stressed.

Hope all are doing well and staying stress free!

Happy beach combing!
