sail away, sail away, sail away
It's intimidating to go face to face after being only online with my jewelry. It's so personal being face to face. There are all the nuances of reaction. I'm not very good at selling my own work, either. I'm better at giving away shells, rocks, and sea glass to the kids. I guess taking the pressure off to sell and looking at it as an opportunity for feedback and to actually sit for an extended period of time to braid and assemble is the way to go. What good will the pressure to sell be? Not good. I've got just over 2 weeks to prepare mentally and physically from nuts to bolts. So, I'm keeping busy drilling, braiding, and brainstorming for the display. I'm thinking the oyster bar boat or maybe 2 from work (filled with beach sand), lots of spring plants, and something beachy to hang all of the necklaces and bracelets from. Then there's a cool book for people to leave their emails in, the tissue paper, the bags, the tablecloth. Would love to hire an assistant to take care of all of this so I could just make some jewelry. Hope all crafters are doing well and staying a bit (read a lot) calmer than I am.
